Read and send mail

Find your messages

Open a folder to see its messages, then select a message to read it. Use search to find a sender, subject, or message text. Check the search scope when you want to look beyond the current folder.

If a message is missing, check Junk, Trash, and your routing settings. A message moved to another folder will no longer appear in Inbox.

Compose a message

  1. Open the compose window.
  2. Enter the recipient's full address. Review autocomplete suggestions before choosing one.
  3. Add a subject and message. Use Cc for visible copies and Bcc when recipients should not see those addresses.
  4. Attach any files and wait for them to finish uploading.
  5. Review the recipients and attachments, then send. Check Sent if you need to confirm which message was sent.

Reply responds to the sender; Reply all also includes other recipients. Forward starts a message that includes the original content. Review that content before sending.

Drafts and attachments

Use the compose window's draft action when you need to finish later. Follow any attachment warning shown before leaving the draft; do not assume an unfinished upload has been saved.

Attachments can be downloaded from the message reader. Supported files may also offer a preview. Only open files you trust.

Personalize webmail

Open Settings → Signature to edit your signature and choose whether it appears in new messages and replies. Review the signature in the composer before sending.

Appearance and Notifications contain personal preferences. Browser notification permission must also be allowed for notifications to appear.

On smaller screens, navigation and message actions may be grouped into menus. The same mailbox and folders are used across devices.
